There's A Million Ways To Be

Not enough people know about Cat Stevens, which means that even fewer have heard this track.

"Trouble "is a departure for Cat (who now goes by Yusuf). Historically, his greatest hits come from soundtracks like "MASH" or "Harold and Maude." This song marries his signature folksong melodies with dreamy, blues-inspird vocals to create a haunting ode to loss and grief.

I confess, most of my favorite Stevens songs are from a film -- the aforementioned "Harold and Maude." Not enough people have seen that either. I highly recommend seeing it at least once, although I concede it's an old film and that might make it hard for some people to watch.

It's a movie about the very best kind of weirdos, how opposites attract, how individuals cope with the heavy burdens we bear, death, and about living life completely on your own terms. Also, there's that gem of a woman Ruth Gordon and cute-as-a-button Bud Cort.

This the cast of characters and the songs they're singing that are keeping my spirits up (well, up-ish) at work today.
